The Montessori Teen and Ten Boards, also known as Seguin Boards, are classic Montessori mathematics materials used to help children understand the formation, sequence, and place value of numbers from 11 to 99.
The set includes both the Teen Boards and Ten Boards, each made from wood with removable number tablets. Children slide the unit number tablets over the zeros to build numbers concretely and see how two-digit numbers are formed.
Teen Boards
The Teen Boards are used to introduce the numbers 11 through 19. Children combine the written numerals with corresponding bead quantities to understand that each teen number consists of one ten and additional units.
Ten Boards
The Ten Boards extend the work to numbers 10 through 99. Children use the number tablets to form quantities such as 24, 37, 58, and 96, reinforcing the relationship between tens and units and preparing for later place-value work.

Using the boards together with the corresponding bead bars allows the child to connect the written numeral with its concrete quantity, following the Montessori progression from concrete experience to abstract understanding.
Bead bars are not included.
